Useful And Kind

Meet the Useful and Kind Ambassadors…

As Useful and Kind ambassadors, we meet each Thursday at our Useful and Kind Club ran by Miss Gillies, Miss Cox and Mrs Telfer. Each week, we think of the ways that we can be Useful and Kind to ourselves, to others and to the world around us by running mini projects in our lovely school.

At Christmas time, we were thrilled to spread festive cheer to our local care home by decorating baubles for them and even writing letters to the residents! We are kind to our school community by regularly helping tidy, organise and offering our help where needed. We also make sure we spread the message of being kind across the school, which has led us to something VERY exciting…

In March this year, we are launching our whole school U&K awards system. Each class will be given a pot with our very own Useful and Kind logo on. During the school day, anyone who is seen to be doing something useful or kind will have their name placed in the pot. At the end of the week, a raffle will be drawn and the winner will receive their exclusive Useful and Kind wristband! We can’t wait to spread our message to everyone. Keep up the good work, Highfield!

As a Useful and Kind Ambassador, we follow three simple rules: being useful and kind to ourselves, each other and the world. I feel like it is really important to do these because being a kind person makes me feel happy. It is small but it changes the world. – Niamh

I love our club because all of the people in it care about each other and our school. Everyone is really supportive of each other and I feel really proud to be part of it. Changing the world might be difficult at Highfield, we can achieve anything! - Millie
