Article 31: Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.

Official Appointment: Lead Reading Ranger

The Reading Revolution really brings the best out of our keen readers in school and lots of children are doing their best to read at least 5 times per week. However, someone on our Reading Ranger team is always going above and beyond for our revolution. Each morning, Adam insists on his year 6 classmates showing him their reading record – sometimes before they’ve even taken their coat off! He reads brilliantly to the class whenever he gets the chance and reads himself EVERY night of the week which means he has a fantastic vocabulary and gets 10/10 on his spellings every week.

Last week Adam went a huge step further for the Reading Revolution and wrote a wonderfully persuasive letter to the CEO of a well-known High Street book store asking them to sponsor a reading award that we would like to start giving each week in our whole-school assembly. His stunning handwriting and well thought-out proposition is sure to wow the company manager and we eagerly await his reply.

To thank Adam for his hard work, Mrs Davies came up with the great idea to promote him! Please congratulate Adam next time you see him around school proudly wearing his Reading Ranger sash as he takes on the role: Lead Reading Ranger!
